New Year, New Hair? Maybe, maybe not!
January 05, 2019Every few months or so, I face the same dilemma. Do I, or do I not cut my hair?
I mean, when I actually put effort into it, it looks okay.
I think my problem is that I want what I don't have. Lacie Marshall posted this video on Facebook. And now of course I feel it is absolutely necessary that I have both the haircut and style. It doesn't help that my awesome sister (who happens to my also be my hairdresser) bought me a kickass curling iron to help create these exact waves.
But then I see these pictures floating around the web...
So in an effort to figure out what length I ultimately want to go with, I'm going to do what most people would do when making an important decision. And yes, for a woman, this is considered an important decision. I'm going to weigh the pros and cons!
Pros of having long hair:
- When I'm having a bad hair day, I can throw it in a cute bun.
- It's lower maintenance for me as far as styling since I have naturally curly hair.
- When I do actually style it, I get to have the pretty waves seen above.
- My long hair is like a security blanket I can hide behind.
Cons of having long hair:
- It takes forever to straighten or curl it to get those beachy waves that I want.
- I have to lather it up with twice as much shampoo because my hair is so thick.
- It takes forever to dry.
Now let's look at the pros and cons of having short hair...
Pros of having short hair:
- Not as much hair to work with.
- Easier to straighten and curl because there just isn't as much hair.
- It's quicker to blow dry.
Cons of having short hair:
- Since I have naturally curly hair, when I cut it short it looks like a sailboat.
- Short, naturally curly hair just doesn't look good on me.
- It makes me look like a child.
- Higher maintenance as far as style. If I want it to look good, I HAVE to style it.
- I can't put it in a cute bun on top of my head when I'm in a hurry.
- I miss my long hair.
Please note that these pros and cons may not apply to you! These only apply to me! With that being said, I'm pretty sure I've found my answer.
Do you have the same issue?
